Good science teachers know that activities are more meaningful if they are inquiry-based, using real data acquired by the students themselves. The challenge is finding authentic research opportunities and projects. We will share the successes we've had and some of the programs available to teachers and/or students to do real, open-ended research using authentic data from NASA and elsewhere. We'll also talk about alternative research projects, such as podcasts, vodcasts, internships, job shadowing, and research on the history of science.
