In this computer based workshop, participants will be introduced to NASA Smart Skies- a set of problem based activities set in the context of air traffic control.You will use a web based simulator to solve realistic air traffic control problems by applying proportional reasoning and distance-time-rate relationships. The Smart Skies activities are aligned to national math and science standards for grades 5-9 and to math standards in all 50 states. All online materials are free and classroom ready including the simulator, introductory videos, print based student workshops and teacher guides.
