The presentation focuses on using Prezi.com as a format for collaborative curriculum mapping between teachers, in conjunction with Google Docs to create a shared database of teacher resources. Both Prezi and Google Docs are free, collaborative, and cloud-based. Using these tools in a synergistic way, educators can work together and share resources in real-time without the need to schedule face-to-face communication. The curriculum map we are developing in Prezi.com outlines a simple to follow visual representation of the Utah State Core. Each of the lesson summaries in the curriculum map have a resources section where shared docs are listed by file name and owner/creator. This allows any teacher that is added to the shared system access to a year-long curriculum flow with available resources to choose from. The strength in the project is the more people collaborate in it, the better it will become.
This is not a training on the "how-to's" of Google Docs or Prezi and assumes the participant is somewhat familiar with these programs.
